Segundo o Primeiro Ministro da Índia, Narendra Modi, “Até 2030, a Índia estará entre os três principais países em ciência e tecnologia e entre os destinos mais atraentes para os melhores talentos do mundo”.
De acordo com o banco de dados SCOPUS, desde 2004 a Índia aumentou sua produção científica em 3,8 vezes, aumentando a qualidade em algumas áreas de pesquisa, principalmente a área química.
O Governo da Índia através do Departamento de Ciência e Tecnologia criou um canal de TV científico baseado na internet, chamado “India Science”. O canal de ciência que está disponível em Hindi e Inglês é dedicado à disseminação de conhecimento em ciência e tecnologia para a gigantesca base de usuários de internet na Índia.
