Anoushka Shankar é uma compositora indiana e tocadora de cítara. Seguindo o caminho do seu pai, o grande Ravi Shankar, Anoushka começou a praticar o instrumento muito cedo e aos 13 anos fez sua primeira apresentação pública em Nova Délhi em comemoração aos 75 anos do pai.
Em 2001 o seu terceiro álbum “Live at Carnegie Hall” lhe rendeu uma indicação ao Grammy de Melhor Álbum de World Music e ela se tornou a pessoa mais jovem a ser indicada nessa categoria.
Anoushka ganhou 6 indicações ao Grammy por seus álbuns. Entre vários outros prêmios, ganhou o Prêmio ACTA de música em 2017 por suas contribuições na música clássica e progressiva indiana.

Anoushka Shankar is an Indian songwriter and sitar player. Following the path of her father, the great Ravi Shankar, Anoushka started to practice the instrument very early and at the age of 13 she made her first public performance in New Delhi in celebration of her father’s 75th birthday.
In 2001 her third album “Live at Carnegie Hall” earned her a Grammy nomination for Best World Music Album and she became the youngest person to be nominated in that category.
Anoushka won 6 Grammy nominations for her albums. Among many other awards, she won the ACTA Music Award in 2017 for her contributions to classical and progressive Indian music.
